The Wonderful 101: Remastered release date revealed
PlatinumGames has announced that The Wonderful 101: Remastered will be released for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 19th in North America and May 22nd in Europe.
“The Wonderful 101 has gotten this miraculous second chance thanks to all of you who’ve told us you wanted to play it, as well as the passionate PG staff who worked on it with me. We’re delighted to see it return on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam,” director Hideki Kaiya said.
“This isn’t just a simple port, either. We’ve tuned the controls for each new platform and made several adjustments that should make it easier to grasp and play. On top of that, we’ve improved the image quality and frame rate to suit modern hardware. On the whole, I’d say The Wonderful 101: Remastered is the definitive edition of the game!”
A Kickstarter for the remaster was set up earlier this month and has raised more than $1.75 million. The Kickstarter’s success means that the remaster will feature a new piece of content called Luka’s First Mission, which is a side-scrolling action spinoff in which players will control Blossom City Elementary School student Luka.
Two more stretch goals are yet to be hit that include Luka’s Second Mission for $2 million and re-recordings of two tracks from the game with a full orchestra for $2.25 million.
