Grand Theft Auto IV returns to Steam next month

Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto IV will return to Steam as the Complete Edition on March 19th.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition includes both the base game and Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City and will replace both games in the library.

According to the developer, all save files will be compatible with the Complete Edition. However, the game will be returning to Steam without Games for Windows Live, multiplayer mode, and leaderboards. The RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM, and Vice City FM radio stations will also be temporarily unavailable.

Players who already own Grand Theft Auto IV on Steam will be automatically upgraded to the Complete Edition and need to download a 6GB update if the game is installed. While Episodes from Liberty City owners will also be upgraded to the Complete Edition, but will need to download a 22GB update if the game is installed.

Finally, copies activated via Games for Windows Live will require players to link or create a Rockstar Social Club account to upgrade to Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition.
