Sony shutting down PlayStation Manchester studio
PlayStation confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that it has decided to shut down its studio in Manchester, England.
The company informed the site that the decision has been made “as part of our efforts to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.”
PlayStation Manchester was originally set up under the North West Studio banner in 2015 to develop PlayStation VR games. The studio was working on an unannounced VR title.
Sony has previously shut down Evolution Studio, the team behind Driveclub, in 2016 and RIGS: Mechanized Combat League developer Guerrilla Cambridge in 2017. This leaves Dreams developer Media Molecule and London Studio as Sony’s only U.K. studios.
