Disco Elysium update introduces hardcore mode and ultrawide support
ZA/UM has released a new update for its popular RPG Disco Elysium that introduces a new Hardcore True Detective Mode.
This new addition ups the difficulty of the game by increasing the difficulty of every check, reducing the money dropped by people, and increasing the price of pharmaceuticals while reducing their effectiveness. However, to help balance things a little, players will receive a small amount of extra XP to help them level faster.
“Hardcore Mode isn’t for everyone,” the developer added. “But if you’ve loved this strange story in this forgotten city, it’s a way to experience it from a new perspective — a Martinaise perspective. For those of us here at ZA/UM, who’ve already spent hundreds of hours playing, this new mode been a wonderful chance to revisit the game in a fresh way.”
In addition to Hardcore True Detective Mode, this latest update brings with it support for ultrawide monitors.
Disco Elysium is available now on PC and will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year.
