Nintendo Switch sales spike in U.K.
The Nintendo Switch is enjoying a sales spike in the U.K. over the last few weeks thanks in part to the release of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
According to data obtained by GamesIndustry.biz, Switch hardware sales rose by 30 percent last week with the release of the new Pokémon games, following a 75 percent increase the week previous. A total of 90,000 Switch consoles have been sold in the U.K. during November.
GamesIndustry.biz also notes that the Nintendo Switch with increased battery life is the main SKU being sold and not the recently released Nintendo Switch Lite.
The Nintendo Switch is currently outselling the PlayStation 4 in the U.K. and appears to be on track to become the best-selling console of the year.
