First look at Resident Evil spinoff Project Resistance in action
Capcom has shared a debut gameplay trailer for its upcoming 4v1 asymmetric online survival horror game, Project Resistance.
The game puts four players in control of the Survivors and tasks them with escaping an area before the time runs out, while another player attempts to stop them as the Mastermind. According to Capcom, Masterminds secretly capture young people and place them in desperate situations to gather research about fear response.
Survivors must complete objectives, such as obtaining items or solving puzzles, to clear an area. Once the third area is complete, they will successfully escape. To help with this, Survivors have access to a number of skills and can respawn in exchange for a chunk of time.
The Mastermind’s job is to prevent the four Survivors from leaving the facility alive. This is accomplished by setting up traps, placing creatures, taking control of weaponized cameras, and by taking over zombies and the Tyrant to directly attack the Survivors.
A closed beta test for Project Resistance will run from October 4th through October 7th on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Interested players can sign up for a chance to take part here. Don’t hang around though, as applications will close on September 18th.
Project Resistance is in development for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
