343 Industries working on a fix for Halo Infinite’s Big Team Battle
A fix for Halo Infinite‘s Big Team Battle matchmaking issues is currently in testing, 343 Industries has confirmed.
A “strike force” has been working on the issues over the holiday break and the team believes that it now has “a fix in hand for the core issue.” The fix now has to go through some more testing and then certification before it can be released, so an exact date for when it will go live cannot be shared.
“It’s a little too soon to give an ETA yet but please know our goal is to release this as soon as we can while ensuring it doesn’t have any other unintended impact to the retail product,” the developer explained in a forum post. “It won’t be this week, but we hope it’s not too much further out and we’ll share an update as soon as we have line of sight on a release date (once we clear ‘cert’ we are then ready to ship).”
343 also mentioned that it is aware of other complaints and reports from players regarding issues and instances of cheating. Another patch is currently in the works for the game that is aiming for a mid-February release and will address these issues.
“For now we are opting to slipstream the BTB fixes given the broad scope of impact on all players,” the developer added. “That’s not to say issues like cheating or wonkiness with the ranked experience aren’t important, but they have other dependencies and are on a bit longer timeline than this BTB fix which is nearly ready to go.”
Halo Infinite is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
