CoD: Black Ops Cold War update prepares for synchronized progression with Vanguard
Treyarch is releasing a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War later today, December 6th, that prepares the game for synchronized progression with Call of Duty: Vanguard.
When Season One of Vanguard goes live on December 8th, Military Rank and Prestige progression will be synchronized across all titles. This means that players will begin Season One at the Military Rank or Prestige Level they’ve reached in Vanguard, or Military Rank 1 if they haven’t played it. Following this, players can progress their “Vanguard Military Ranks in Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, and Modern Warfare to unlock weapons, Equipment, Killstreaks, and other content for use in Vanguard and Warzone.”
Players also get the Lifetime Prestige display, which will show the total number of Prestige Levels earned across previous seasons and in Vanguard, and the ability to earn any Prestige Master Ribbons that were missed in previous seasons. Every 200 levels earned will reward a missing ribbon.
In addition to the above, all 27 Prestige Icons from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are being added to the Prestige Store, Prestige Icons no longer reset, and all challenges from previous seasons will be unlocked.
Finally, the Marshal Pistol is being nerfed. After this update, the damage range has been reduced, the extra damage range from the 12.1 Extended Barrel has been reduced, and the Dragon’s Breath attachment fire rate has also been reduced. Read the full patch notes here.
