Battlefield 2042 open beta stats show most popular gadgets, weapons
DICE has revealed a ton of statistics that it gathered from the Battlefield 2042 open beta. Guess which gadget and weapon were the most popular.
That’s right: Mackay’s grappling gun and the M5A3 assault rifle were the most popular gadget and weapon respectively in the 2042 beta. Players fired Mackay’s grappling gun over 114 million times. Falling way behind that was Boris’ sentry gun, which players deployed 30 million times. Casper’s recon drone saw 8 million uses, while players only fired 3.3 million shots from Falck’s S21 Syrette Pistol.
As for the standard gadgets, the M5 Recoilless rocket launcher was most players’ top choice, followed by the ammo box. Considering we could count on one hand the amount of players we saw dropping ammo boxes, that last one comes as a surprise.
Aside from the M5A3, the LCMG, AK24, PBX-45, and K30 rounded out the top-five weapons list. All told, players fired over 17 billion bullets.
DICE also released some facts about Orbital, including the frequency of its rocket launch and tornado events. The rocket launched over 380,000 times and failed to launch 58,557 times. While DICE didn’t reveal how many matches were played, it did reveal that the tornado appeared 94,698 times. Considering DICE told us that the beta build had the tornado’s frequency set to 10 percent, we’re looking at nearly 1 million matches.
A post-beta recap post is set to go live sometime next week. Meanwhile, DICE will reveal Battlefield 2042‘s “high-stakes, squad-based” mode, Hazard Zone, tomorrow at 8 a.m. PT. Battlefield 2042 launches November 19ths for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
