PlayStation 5 system software update 21.02-04.02.00 is now available
A new system software update is now available to download for PlayStation 5 that takes the console up to version 21.02-04.02.00.
Unlike last month’s major update, this one only includes the usual improvements to system performance, according to the single patch note:
- This system software update improves system performance.
The update is 913 MB and will begin downloading the next time the console is turned on while connected to the internet.
The last major update for the PlayStation 5 arrived back in September and allowed players to finally make use of the console’s storage expansion slot. Version 21.02-04.00.00 also enabled 3D audio through TV speakers, separated PS4 and PS5 versions of the same game on the home screen, and made adjustments to the Game Library and Game Base.
