Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown trailer celebrates the DLC’s release
Wasteland 3’s first narrative DLC, The Battle of Steeltown, is now available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, developer inXile Entertainment has announced.
This new content is set around the factory complex of Steeltown, which is responsible for all manufacturing in Colorado, including trucks, armor, weapons, and more. Recently, deliveries from Steeltown have ceased and Abigail Markham, the leader of Steeltown, is offering nothing but excuses as to why.
The Patriarch wants answers and so has dispatched the Rangers to find out what is going on. Upon arrival, it is discovered that the workers have gone on strike and are holding the factory hostage and bandits have moved in on the outskirts.
Steeltown includes new quests, enemies, weapons, armor, crafting recipes, and world map encounters. There are also new mechanics for players to deal with, including telegraphed attacks, stacking status effects, elemental shields, and non-lethal weapons.
“The Battle of Steeltown represents not just a fantastic new chapter in Wasteland 3’s story full of choice, consequence, and Wasteland 3’s unique brand of humor, it’s also a culmination of all the hard work we’ve put into the game since launch,” game director David Rogers said. “For those playing Wasteland 3 for the first time they’ll be playing the best version of the game. For players coming back to visit Steeltown they’re in for a treat with new story, characters, and combat mechanics that really change up tactics in challenging new ways. They’ll also see characters and stories they started in the base game make an appearance, with new interactions for everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed parrot, Santa’s Elves “Where Are They Now?” and more. All of this is complemented with incredible new post-apoc music.”
Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC as part of the expansion pass or as an individual purchase for $13.99.
