Hitman 3’s progression carryover is down, IO Interactive working on it
Hitman 3 is a fantastic game, and people want to play it. Unfortunately, the website that lets you carry over progress from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3 is down, and that could be preventing some players from logging on.
In essence, Hitman 3 lets you do a one-time progress carryover from the previous game so all the unlocks from the previous game’s levels transfer to the current one. However, the website that lets you do so is down.
The catch is that, if you start Hitman 3 and then do the progression transfer, it will overwrite whatever progress you made in Hitman 3, so the developer recommends players who want to transfer progress to hold off on playing the new game.
IO tweeted that it’s currently working on a fix. It seems that the sheer number of players who are trying to play Hitman 3 and log into their IO accounts is partly the cause.
You can only carry over progress within the same platform family, so this won’t impact Stadia or Switch players.
Others are reporting that they are having a hard time getting the levels from 2016’s Hitman onto Hitman 3. IO released a comprehensive pre-launch guide detailing how each platform can transfer levels to the new game so that you can experience them again with the Glacier engine’s upgrades. Essentially, you can access the Hitman 2 levels via an in-game access pass, but in order to download the 2016 game’s levels, you must download the legacy pack from Hitman 2.
Hitman 3 is available now on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
