Sackboy: A Big Adventure update introduces online multiplayer
Sumo Digital has delivered the previously promised online multiplayer update for Sackboy: A Big Adventure on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
Following the update, players can join in with up to three companions online and play through the entire adventure cooperatively. There are also 10 dedicated Teamwork Levels that will require teams to “collaborate, coordinate, and communicate” to complete.
“There are a bunch of multiplayer moves with which to both assist and annoy your chums,” design director Ned Waterhouse said in a PlayStation Blog post. “Experiment with slapping, grabbing, and rolling into other players. Then dodge out of the way before they do the same to you. Also, a word of warning: take care when wielding the Swingamajig with other Sackfolk around. You don’t want to do anyone a disservice… do you?”
Additionally, players can unlock a number of co-op emotes with collectabells or through prize bubbles, including hugs, high-fives, and chest-bumps.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure also now features support for cross-generational multiplayer and the option to transfer saves from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5.
