Did Sony just give a hint at Gran Turismo 7’s release date?
An eagle-eyed member of Gran Turismo fan community GTPLANET noticed a line of a text on what is purportedly an official PlayStation 5 ad from Sony that might tell us when Gran Turismo 7 is coming.
According to GT ELIEANOR, they were browsing the mobile version of YouTube when a PlayStation ad showed up in their feed. The ad had a thumbnail image showing what seems to be a never-before-seen screenshot of Gran Turismo 7, with some text in French accompanying it.
One section of that text, however, is especially important. In the bottom corner of the screen, this line appear:
Sortie prévue pour la première moitié de 2021.
Which, when translated, reads:
Release scheduled for the first half of 2021.
Now, obviously, there’s a few caveats to all of this. That text could be a mistake, either in full or perhaps meant instead to refer to a different game. Or, the ad could have been completely fabricated, as we’ve not seen it for ourselves at this point.
However, there’s been talk that Sony is really pushing to have a fantastic first year for its new next-generation console, including from Kinda Funny’s Imran Khan. So, it’s entirely possible that Gran Turismo 7 is indeed intended for release in the first half of next year—whether it makes it or not is a whole other story.
