Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered announced for consoles and PC
Criterion’s first Need for Speed title, Hot Pursuit, is being remastered for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, EA has announced.
The upcoming remaster features high-resolution models, longer draw distances, higher-resolution shadows, and improved videos on all platforms. While the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions also have an upressed UI, higher resolution reflections, boosted textures and particles, and improved AA/SSAO.
As for resolution and frame rate, on Nintendo Switch, the game will run at 1080p/30 FPS in docked (720p/30 FPS in handheld mode) and at either 4K/30 FPS or 1080p/60 FPS on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro. Base Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players get 1080p gameplay at 30 FPS.
In addition to visual upgrades, the remaster includes all of the main DLC released for the original game, such as the SCPD Rebel Racer Pack and Super Sports Pack. Developers Criterion and Stellar Entertainment are also throwing in new achievements, car colors, wraps, reduced hard stops, an updated photo mode, and numerous quality of life updates.
Finally, Remastered introduces cross-platform play between all platforms and shared Speedwalls via Autolog.
